1. In short
This site sets no cookies of its own and does not profile you. It uses three local browser stores, all technical, which stay on your device and are sent to nobody. The only outbound connections deliver the libraries that drive the animations and the map — and the map loads only if you ask for it.
2. What we are talking about
People say "cookies", but the rule that matters — Art. 5(3) of the
ePrivacy Directive, implemented in Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code —
covers any storing of information on the user's device. That
includes localStorage and sessionStorage, which
is what we use.
These require prior consent and disclosure, except where strictly necessary to provide a service you explicitly requested. That exception covers all three entries below.
3. What we store on your device
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
pn-consent | localStorage | Remembers the choice you made in the banner, with its date and the version of this notice. Without it we would ask on every page — and it is also how we demonstrate that consent was obtained, as Art. 7(1) GDPR requires | 6 months |
pn-lang | localStorage | Remembers the language you chose, so you are not sent back to Italian every time | Until manually cleared |
pn-map-ok | sessionStorage | Remembers that you agreed to load the map, so we do not ask again on every visit to the Contact page | Until the browser is closed |
None of these contain data identifying you, and none is sent to any server, ours or anyone else's.
4. Connections to external services
Some technical resources come from third-party suppliers. They set no cookies, but to deliver a file they necessarily receive your IP address, which is personal data: we tell you so that you know.
| Service | What it does | When | Notice |
|---|---|---|---|
| jsDelivr (Cloudflare / Fastly) | Delivers the animation and map libraries | When pages that use them load | Read |
| CARTO / OpenStreetMap | Provides the map tiles | Only if you press "show the map" on the Contact page: until then, no request is made | Read |
| Vercel Inc. | Hosts the site and keeps technical logs | On every request, necessarily | Read |
Typefaces are not fetched from Google Fonts: we host them on our own domain precisely so that opening a page does not disclose your IP address to a third party.
5. The banner categories
- Necessary — the three stores in the table above. Always on: without them the site cannot work or remember your choice. They require no consent.
- Measurement — aggregated usage statistics. No tool currently active. The option stays in the banner so the choice is already yours if we ever add one.
- Marketing — advertising and remarketing tools. No tool currently active.
The two optional categories stay off until you turn them on: no box is pre-ticked and no script runs before your choice.
6. Changing your mind
You can change or withdraw your choice whenever you like, in the same number of clicks it took to give it. The button below reopens the panel, and the same link sits in the footer of every page.
7. Acting from your browser
Independently of us, you can clear local storage from your browser settings — usually under "Privacy and security" → "Clear browsing data" → "Cookies and other site data". Clearing it will lose your language choice and consent will be requested again.
You can also enable the Do Not Track signal or browse in private mode, in which case the stores last only for the session.
8. Updates
If we introduce new tools we will update this page and raise the version number: the banner will ask you to choose again, because consent given against a different notice would not be valid.
Reopen the panel here and change your choice at any time.
